Knowledge

to be on call 24x7 on a weekly rotation.
The
ITOPs/Systems Engineer will perform a variety of duties to fulfill this role:
Support & Maintain data center infrastructure –
install new equipment and operating systems, deploy applications, troubleshoot
the issues.
Manage
and document production system backup and recovery procedures for offsite disk
and tape storage.
Document
system configurations, server, OS, and VM build practices, backup procedures,
troubleshooting guides, and keep infrastructure drawings current with changes.
Maintain
OS patching and virus scanning system updates across systems.
Automate
system monitoring and maintenance tasks by creating scripts and applications or
identifying and evaluating off the shelf tools.
Analyze
and resolve problems involving interaction between applications, server
hardware/firmware/OS and storage by working with software developers, QA, and
equipment vendors.
Support
production applications, servers, and networks by responding to incidents,
restoring service as quickly as possible, and investigating root causes for
outages and maintaining incident logs.
Support
development and QA systems and the engineers’ use of these environments.
Provide
24x7 on-call support for production systems and applications, including
Windows systems on a rotational basis.
Perform
end-to-end application test procedures to verify application functional
operation after changes and incidents.
Perform
a variety of related duties and tasks as required.
Administer,
support and monitor multiple SQL*Server databases.
Proactively
monitor database operations, capacity planning, and performance tuning (SQL and
database) for optimal performance of applications Provide 24x7 on-call support
in a very dynamic environment with mission critical applications.
Interface
with Support teams, developers, etc. to perform troubleshooting, debugging,
root cause analysis and resolve application issues
Should
be able to work independently with least amount of Guidance and Direction.
Should
be a team player with flexible attitude and working hours.
Job Description:
The
ITOPs/ Systems Engineer (Entry Level) will be responsible for the deployment,
administration, monitoring, analysis and support of Trimble’s application
services and the systems, servers, and databases on which they are deployed.
The
services run on 24x7 mission critical, high-availability systems with data
replication and disaster recovery across multiple data centers.
The
IT operations/Systems Engineer will conduct systems monitoring and support
activities such as application software updates, maintaining backup scripts,
and maintaining and automating monitoring systems logs, monitoring and
reporting exceptions and errors.
The
Systems Engineer will directly support the ITOps/system lead in incident
reporting and problem resolution.
