Job Summary:
Total of 1-2 years of supporting large IT infrastructure (500+ servers).
The suitable candidate will be responsible to carry out the installation, configuration, and support of a rapidly growing VMware based Virtual Infrastructure estate and support the growing estate of SQL and Active Directory Infrastructure.
Second level management and support of Virtual Infrastructure components. Active Directory Installation and support skills
Installation of new ESX clusters and supporting management systems.
Installing and configuring SQL Server on VMware.
Full spectrum of SQL Server support duties.
Installation and configuration of HP Chassis & Blades.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide a sound level of technical competence to deliver capabilities to technical policies, standards and within timescales.
Contribute to the reduction of incidents for DCMS Platforms and provide proactive problem management in order to maintain high service levels.
Contribute to the definition and implementation of operating procedures and operability on new and existing systems, ensuring adherence to defined Operations Standards.
Adhere to the release process to ensure products/services are delivered in a supportable manner and to defined standards of quality and software compliance.
Provide detailed implementation/project plans across multiple work streams according to agreed standards. Attention should be given to communicate any risks or issues using the appropriate escalation procedures.
Produce, deliver and maintain appropriate documentation for systems in accordance with Technical Operations document control standards and procedures. Also provide input to records, quality systems and management reports as required.
Adhere to change management procedures in defining, planning and implementing change in such a way that service disruption is minimised, and adherence to Service Level Agreements is ensured.
Provide input to Technical Recovery plans, and to take part in technical recovery for major incidents within your defined area.
Work and cooperate with internal and external groups when required in order to fully support environments and maintain service.
To ensure correct referral and escalation of issues.
Ability to manage own work and multitask to meet tight deadlines without losing sight of priorities.
Work out of hours when appropriate to support major implementations or to react to high priority service issues.
