GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is an all India Examination Administered and Conducted Jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and Seven Indian Institutes of Technology that are listed below on behalf of the National Coordination Board - GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.
What is new in GATE 2014:
Qualification:
Bachelor's Degree Holders in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Pharmacy (Post-Diploma/Post-BSc/4 Years after 10+2) and those who are in the final year of such programs.
Candidates in the final year of the Four-Year Bachelors Degree program in Science (BS) (Post-Diploma/4 Years of 10+2).
Master's Degree Holders in any Branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications or Equivalent and those who are in final year of such programs.
Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-Year integrated Master's Degree Program (Post-BSc) in Engineering/Technology.
Candidates in the Fourth or higher year of the Five-Year integrated Master's Degree Program or Dual Degree Program in Engineering/Technology.
Candidates in the Final or Five year integrated MSc (Post-BSc) or Five Year integrated BS-MS Program.
Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE (Eg.AMIE by EI(I), AMICE(I) by ICE(I)) as equivalent to BE/BTech.
Those who have completed section A or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible.
Application Fee:
Candidates have to apply Online.
Rs.1500 for General/OBC Male candidates.
Rs.750 for Women Candidates.
Rs.1500 for General/OBC other candidates.
Rs.750 for SC/ST/PD Category candidates.
Application paid either Online or Other through bank challan via SBI or Syndicate Bank.
How To Apply:
Commencement of Online Application: 2nd September 2013 (Monday).
Last Date: Submission of Application (Website Closure)- 3rd October 2013 (Thursday).
Receipt of Hard Copy Application with supporting documents at respective GATE OFFICE- 10th October 2013 (Thursday).
IMPORTANT DATES OF EXAMINATION:
On Saturdays and Sundays between 1st February 2014 and 2nd March 2014.
